Crafty Secrets Color Challenge

This month Vicki has challenged the design team with ways to use color in our stamped projects.Smiley from millan.net
For my first project I have used Copic markers to color the Queen from the new Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps Greetings from Wonderland set, a super fun set for all the Alice in Wonderland fans!
I took a small plain white box and covered it with paper from the Pastel Paper Pad. I added the lace around the lid and I punched 2 pieces of the paper with my Marvy Giga Scalloped Square Punch. I glued one on the bottom of the box and attached the Queen (isn't she funny, she just cracks me up) to a scalloped square for the top and glued that to the top of the box with Zip Dry glue. I glued the game pieces on the bottom of the box for feet.
She has bling on her belt and her For You sign is covered with Glossy Accents.

These are the Copic markers I used to color the Queen.
You don't have to be an expert to use these markers. Most stamps have the shaded areas in the stamp itself, especially detailed stamps like Crafty Secrets.
I like to color over a darker color with a lighter color to make the area lighter, almost like lifting the color in places. You can add color to the same color and darken areas this way and then blend it with the lighter color marker.

I always pick my patterned paper and cardstock first, then I match my Copic marker colors to my paper.

I altered these dominos with Adirondack Alcohol Inks, I used Red Pepper and the Silver Mixative on one and Red Pepper, Bottle and Silver Mixative on the other . These are smaller dominos, about 3/4 x 1 1/2". I got them from a friend a few years ago. I attached a pin/bale on the back and strung pink cord through it to make a necklace. The stamp I used is from the Greetings from Wonderland set. There is a great tutorial here by my friend Cindy Lyles at SCS for this technique.

Here are the supplies I used for the dominos. Each piece is always different and the domino necklaces and pins make great little gifts!
You can get most of the supplies I used from electicPaperie or StarLitStudio, the varnish came from Michael's.

I added color to this Eiffel Tower with glitter, I love glitter! I printed it out on pink cardstock like Sandy had suggested when she was giving this download away with a purchase. I applied Scotch Tacky glue with a small brush and dumped Martha Stewart White Gold glitter on the tower and the pink glitter on the flag. It's SO SPARKLY in real life!

Wow! That's alot of glitter Pam. If I tried to do that I would have it everywhere but on the tower, teehee. That Wonderland set is so cute and I bet it is going to be a big hit with the new release of Alice in Wonderland coming out! Great projects!
